Work Anytime

A lot of people fail early on in their business venture because they think that setting up and maintaining their own business, whether online or at a physical brick and mortar address, is easy and once the initial work is done they can sit back, relax, and watch the customers and money roll in.

But nothing could be further from the truth, and new business owners are often caught off-guard when problems arise and they are faced with the long hours and tedious work that comes with running their own business. More often than not, they do not know what to do and how to cope with the problems, issues, and other challenges that do come up in business, or prepared to put in the hours and effort required, and inevitably the business fails.

Working at your own pace is indeed one of the most touted advantages of being in business for yourself, but also one of the greatest misconceptions. Thinking you can work at your own pace all the time and still be successful is not a good mindset to be in, especially in the early days of your business.

Realistically, how can you expect to make a decent living out of your business with only a couple of hours work here and there or when you feel like it? Simply put, no work means no pay and that is a fact that you will have to live with.

You might argue that the successful business owners you know and hear about do work whenever they want to and do not slave away spending long hours at their place of business or online. Some of these business owners even run their businesses on auto-pilot with minimal input.

While this all may be true you need to remember and keep in mind that these same successful business owners started out small just like you are and put in the long and tedious hours needed to get to where they are now. They have earned their right to sit back, relax, and watch the customers and money roll in. In time you will have earned this too.

In truth, you can expect at least the first few months of business looking more like the day job that you just quit, or maybe even worse, than being in business for yourself with the freedoms you expected would come with it. There really is no getting around the hard work and effort you need to put in to reap the rewards and gratification, and of course customers and profits, that come after for a job well done.

Success is not about setting up your business and waiting around for it to happen. This only brings disastrous results and great disappointment. To be successful you need to be disciplined and dedicated, and willing to put in the time and effort.
